Bye Bye Summer
Summer 2010 was a special summer, with so many beautiful emotions and new and old friendships to remember, but also with some heavier moments, less pleasant, which I don’t want to remind right now… I’m working on myself in order to store them with swimming costumes, slippers and sunscreen, it’s a goodbye and never see each other again to sadness, anxiety and lump in my throat. I won’t bring you with me in the golden light of autumn, no. It will be me, and just me, to walk with lightness – of heart and mind – on the carpet of creaking leaves, to reap the juicy bunches of grapes, to dream over the bright orange pumpkins and breathe the first smell of mushrooms and firewood into the fresh air.
So Bye Bye Summer! Fall, what are you waiting for? I am here waiting for you!
My intention, today, is to say goodbye to summer and its a sunny afternoons, to London and Provence memories, with a quick and summery way to present fruit, with two drops of Pimm’s, with whom I fell in love during Food Bloggers Connect in June.
::: Melon with brown sugar and Pimm’s :::
- sweet, small and round melon, 1
- brown sugar, 2 tablespoons
- Pimm’s, 2 tablespoons
- mint leaves to serve
Halve the melon, remove seeds and make small pulp scoops with a spoon. Season melon scoops with brown sugar and Pimm’s. Put the pulp back into melon halves and decorate with fresh mint leaves. It’s a perfect fresh dessert with a scoop of yogurt ice cream.
I’ve spent a wonderful summer in UK with family and friends and have just returned ‘home’. Your post brought so many emotions to the fore.
What a wonderful way to have pims. melon absorbs other flavours so well. Wishing you a wondeful autumn ahead. come and visit A wee bit of sugar when you have some spare time.
