Home-made granola

Ingredients

  • 100 g of orange blossom honey
  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • 100 g of rolled oats
  • 100 g of rice flakes
  • 50 g of almonds
  • 50 g of hazelnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 50 g of dried strawberries
  • 50 g of coconut flakes

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 160°C.
  • Heat the honey with the extra virgin olive oil in a saucepan until liquid and golden.
  • Mix the oatmeal, rice flakes, the coarsely chopped almonds and hazelnuts and the salt in a bowl. Pour over the honey, stir evenly and spread te granola onto a tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake the granola for about 20 minutes, then remove it from the oven, stir throughly and bake again for about 15 minutes, until golden.
  • Remove it from the oven, let it cool completely then mix in the chopped dried strawberries and the coconut flakes. Store in a tightly closed jar.
  • Serve the granola with your favourite honey.
